Calgary Arts Development has a vision for our city: A creative, connected Calgary through the arts. We believe the arts have the power to bring meaning and joy to our lives, reflect
and celebrate our shared humanity, and create a sense of belonging.

Every other year, the Festival of Animated Objects gives Calgarians a wonderful opportunity to experience unique stories through mask, puppetry and animated objects. It has become a highly anticipated event in Calgary’s cultural calendar with growing audiences, national attention and international acclaim. We applaud the artists, staff, volunteers and supporters who make this festival come to life in our city.

All the best for the 9th edition of the Festival of Animated Objects.

The Government of Canada recognizes that arts and culture play a vital role in providing unforgettable experiences for Canadians and visitors alike. With its many festivals, activities, celebrations, and commemorations, Canada is known throughout the world as a premier visitor destination. Events like the Festival of Animated Objects contribute to this reputation in introducing audiences to varied art forms, sharing diverse perspectives, and prompting cultural exchanges.

I am pleased to express my support for your festival, particularly as I admire the unique and innovative ways in which it incorporates such diverse forms of storytelling as puppetry, film, exhibitions, and workshops into a cohesive whole. The event is an ideal opportunity to entertain audiences of all ages, exchange ideas, and embrace learning. I am convinced that the festival will be a great success and that your program will be appreciated by participants and the wider public.

Please accept my best wishes.
